Individual Counselling in Burnaby
Let's work through what’s weighing on you.
Individual counselling for adults navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, identity, chronic pain, grief, relationships, or periods of change.
This might be a good fit if...
You’re overwhelmed or burned out
Anxiety keeps taking over
Past experiences are still affecting you
You want to understand yourself better
Something in your life has changed
You don't have to arrive with the right words.
Counselling starts where you are.
Sometimes you know exactly what you want help with. Sometimes you only know that something feels off.
We can slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, notice patterns, and explore what might help. You won’t be expected to tell your story in a particular order, have a diagnosis, or know what your goals are before we begin.
What individual counselling can look like
Therapy that adapts to you.
I take a collaborative, trauma-informed approach to counselling. That means we pay attention not only to what you’re dealing with, but also to what helps you feel safe, understood, and able to engage.
Some sessions may involve making sense of emotions or relationship patterns. Others may be more practical, focused on strategies, decisions, or what you need to get through the week. We can adjust the pace and structure depending on what is useful for you.
How I work

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Build psychological flexibility, connect with what matters, and take meaningful action.
Trauma-Informed & Nervous System Aware
Using polyvagal theory, we go at a pace that feels right for you, with attention to safety, choice, and your whole self.
Cognitive Reprocessing Therapy
A structured, evidence-based approach for trauma-related challenges when it’s a good fit.

Practical Details
What are the different shapes this can take?
We can meet in-person at my office, meet online for a video or voice call, or we can do walk-and-talk therapy.
Where is your office?
My office is in Burnaby, BC, easily accessible from Vancouver, New Westminster, and Coquitlam. The address is 501-3292 Production Way, Burnaby, BC V5A 4R4.
Is it transit accessible?
The office is right next to the Production-Way SkyTrain station on the Millennium Line.
What if I have no experience?
No experience with counselling is needed. I am happy to meet you where you are.
Are you CVAP registered?
I am registered with CVAP (Crime Victims’ Assistance Program). See here for more information.
Can I switch between modes?
Yes. We can meet in-person some sessions, online some sessions, and try out Walk and Talk therapy if you’re curious.
Do I need a trauma diagnosis for trauma counselling?
No. Many people seek trauma counselling without a formal diagnosis. If something feels off to you, I trust that you know yourself. That is more than enough to seek support.
Is it covered by extended health benefits?
If your extended health plan covers RCC services, sessions should be covered in the same way. Coverage varies by provider, so I recommend confirming with your insurer if you’re unsure.
Have questions about the process and our fit?
We can talk about it during your free consultation.
